The Annual conference of year 2024, was conducted at U.N.Mehta institute, Ahmedabad. The conference was attended by 260 delegates across the country and was truly an academic feast. It also included SCMR anf SCCT Joint symposiums with 7 international and 40 National faculties. The conference also Hands on Cardiac MRI and CT workshops, which was attended by 150 delegates. This meeting included both basic as well as advanced topics related to cardiac imaging and also promoted research via competitive paper presentation.
Overall, it was a great success!
One day mid term CME covering basic topics of Cardiac MRI was conducted at Star Hospitals, Hyderabad. Live demo of CMR case was performed with all the basic talks related to planning and analysis of Cardiac MRI. Hands on session was conducted with basic Cardiac MRI cases. The program was very well received by the audience.
IACI has partnered with SCMR to hold a fully virtual level I CMR course to better accommodate interested attendees in India. The course was scheduled for 10-11 August. The faculty included cardiologists and radiologists nationally as well as internationally. 130 delegates attended this academic extravaganza and obtained certification. The topics included basic scanning techniques, protocol, common indication with cases and panel discussion. This program made bond with SCMR stronger!
Lucknow -apollo medics hospital
First dedicated cardiac imaging CME in state of Uttarpradesh was conducted on 28 April, at Apollo medics hospital, Lucknow. It was one day program with topics related to cardiac CT and MRI. The meeting included dedicated lectures, interactive panel discussion and interesting quiz. Dr Shuchi Singh and her team did a very good job. All these efforts will surely promote cardiac imaging in state of Uttarpradesh.
Madras medical mission March 2024
A two day IACI Midterm meeting was organised in association with the Madras Medical Mission.The main focus was on imaging of structural heart diseases. It included TAVR imaging, TMVR imaging, CHD interventional planning and other important topics.This meticulously arranged conference had over more than 30 speakers contributing their expertise to the particular subject followed by 2 hrs of workshop each day on 3mensio software.
The conference and workshop were very well received by the audience.Clinical and radiological team approach was the main highlight of the course.
The Department of Radiology, CMC Vellore, organized a CMR Workshop on February 17th, 2024, which focused on Cardiac MRI physics, interpretation, and reporting. The workshop employed a case-based approach, utilizing numerous real image pathologies to teach delegates. Prior to the workshop, attendees were provided with pre-workshop teaching videos, and all cases were shared beforehand to enhance the learning experience.
The event was endorsed by the Indian Association of Cardiac Imaging (IACI) and was attended by 170 doctors from both within and outside CMC worldwide. Notably, the workshop featured international faculty members, Dr. Mini Pakkal from Toronto General Hospital, Canada, and Dr. Prakash Masand from Texas Children's Hospital, USA, who conducted sessions.
Overall, the CMC CMR Workshop was a resounding success, providing an opportunity for medical professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills in Cardiac MRI while engaging with experts in the field.
One day meeting was organised by CVref, cardiac imaging team at AIIMS Delhi. The meeting was conducted in association with IACI. The main highlight of this event was presence of international faculties, Dr James moon,Dr. Mark westwood and Dr Purvi parwani. The meeting was power packed with topics related to Cardiac MRI. The 13 th annual national conference of Indian association of cardiac imaging was conducted at Kovai medical center and hospitals between 13 th to 15 th October, 2023. The conference was attended by more than 300 cardiac imaging specialists from around the globe. It had 3 days of rich scientific content with combined sessions from the premier international societies on cardiac imaging. The SCMR joint session on non ischemic cardiomyopathy was well appreciated by everyone with SCMR representatives Dr Vanessa Ferreira and Dr Lilia Sierra sharing their expertise. The SCCT joint session had Dr Sandeep Hedgire and Dr Vinit Balyan attending in person while Dr Borek Foldyna was available online for all his sessions on plaque imaging and imaging on structural heart disease. The conference also had two days of hands on cardiac MR workshop with limited seats and dedicated CMR post processing workstations. A one day technologist workshop was a big hit among radiographers with a packed hall and 90 registrations. The national conference turned out to be a memorable experience with enriching scientific content and fun filled evenings where everyone made lot of new friends.
One day mid term CME on ischamic heart diseases was conducted in beautiful city of Jaipur. Dr Suman singhal and her team formulated the entire event . Topics included mix of basic and advanced discussion on cardiac CT and MRI pertaining to ischamic heart diseases. International faculties Dr Mini pakkal and Dr Sarv Priya also joined virtually to share their knowledge. Live interactive session and CT/CMR reporting by Dr Priya jagia was very well received by students.
Two days of dedicated pediatric cardiac imaging session - LOOK BEYOND was conducted in association with BJ wadia hospital, Mumbai.
Live demonstration of anatomy using heart specimen was the main attraction of this course. The programme also included sessions on advances in post-processing technology. Every disease was studied in great depth by team of experts. The programme was a huge success and very well received by the audience
Cardiac CT level 1 training program was conducted in association with NH Ravindranath Tagore institute of medical sciences, Calcutta. The venue was Taj Vivanta, Calcutta. The program included hands on workshop and live case demonstration. The faculties were Dr. Vijay Bhaskar Nori, Dr. Hemant telkar, Dr. Vimal Raj, Dr. Parul garde, Dr. Megha Sheth, Dr. Vishnu,Dr. Nilay nimbalkar and Dr subhajeet as organising secretary. The program was a huge success with constant active interaction with delegates. It was very well appreciated by all the attendees.
IACI in collaboration with Department of Radiodiagnosis, MGM Medical college, Indore conducted the MARS RADIOCON 2023 in Indore on 9th of April. It was one of a kind cardiac imaging program and the very first conference completely dedicated to cardiac imaging in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The program had overwhelming response from residents and young radiologist interested in cardiac imaging with over 180 registrations. The scientific program was conducted by IACI faculties, Dr Hemant Telkar, Dr Pudhiavan A and Dr Richa Kothari. They covered the basics of both cardiac CT and cardiac MR in a day long program with interactive lectures. We also had a virtual talk by the president of IACI, Dr VijayaBhaskar Nori on the role of IACI in imparting cardiac imaging knowledge in the country. The conference arrangements were made impeccably by the organizing team under the abled leadership of Dr Alka Agrawal. IACI is looking forward to conducting many such programs in the future to further the knowledge of cardiac imaging.
IACI Cardiac MRI level 1 certification program was conducted in orange city of Nagpur,in March 2023. The program was power packed with hands on experience and live demonstration of case in AIIMS hospital, Nagpur. Dr Nilay nimbalkar and Dr Ashwini umredkar were organising secretary and did the flawless job. Dr. Vimal Raj was the main pillar, with other faculties as Dr Priya chudgar, Dr Ashita barthur, Dr Pudhiavan, Dr. Onkar auti, Dr Richa kothari.
The entire event was well appreciated by all the attendees.
Cardiac imaging departments of SSSIHMS, Bangalore and University of Pennsylvania joined hands to conduct its second CMR teaching course from 7th to 10th of march 2020 endorsed by SCMR and IACI. It was a dedicated four-day Cardiac MRI teaching course with hands-on training on workstations supported by SuiteHEART software. The delegates and faculty discussed 100 CMR cases in four days with in-depth discussions and debates to make learning CMR a wonderful experience. Dr Ron Jacob, Dr.Yuchi Han, Dr Tiffany Chen, Dr Sanjaya Viswamitra, Dr.Elizabeth Joseph and Dr Vimal Raj were the faculty.
IACI 2019 was held in pink city Jaipur on 26-28 September, in collaboration with EHCC, Eternal Heart Care and Research Centre (Affiliate to Mount Sinai New York). The conference was a huge success and was well attended by approx. 250 delegates from India and abroad.
We had renowned international and national faculty in field of Cardiac Imaging. Dr Jagat Narula, Director Cardiovascular imaging, Mount Sinai New York gave very informative talk on ‘Plaque imaging’. There were renowed international speakers from ASCI (Asian Society of Cardiovascular Imaging), Prof. Tan Swee Yaw from Singapore, Dr. Nobou Tomizawa from Japan and Dr. Lei Xu from Beijing. Along with discussions on important aspects of Cardiac imaging, Dr. Nobou Tomizawa took a session on ‘CT Myocardial perfusion’. Dr. Adam L. Dorfman from Michigan USA (SCMR speaker) gave information about recent advances in Pediatric Cardiac imaging.
We had eminent national faculty from AIIMS Delhi, NH Bangalore, Satya Sai Bangalore, Escorts Delhi, Medanta Delhi, EHCC Jaipur, Mahajan Imaging Delhi, Amrita institute Kochi, AIIMS Jodhpur, Pune, Ahmedabad, Vellore, Mumbai….. The conference was a great academic feast for everyone related to Cardiac Imaging.
For very first time special session on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning within Cardiac imaging was held with all stalwarts in the field giving their valuable opinion. We had special sessions on Plaque imaging and TAVR along with dedicated hands on workshops on Adult Cardiac CT, Cardiac MR and Congenital Heart Disease. There were workshops on Foetal echocardiography and for Cardiac Technologists practicing Cardiac CT and MRI. IACI 2019 was a memorable Cardiac Imaging Conference in all aspects.

IACI MID TERM CME 2018 ‘’Comprehensive CT Coronary Imaging’’ was conducted by Department of Radio Imaging – U. N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre (UNMICRC), Ahmedabad in association with Indian Association of Cardiac Imaging (IACI) on 7th & 8th April 2018 at the central lecture hall of the institute.
CME was successfully conducted under the chairmanship of Dr. R. K. Patel: Hon. Director UNMICRC; Organizing secretary was Dr. Dinesh L. Patel: Head of the radioimaging department; IACI President Dr. Sanjaya Vishwamitra & IACI Secretary Dr. Hemant Telkar played leadership role and guided joint Secretaries Dr. Megha Sheth and Dr. Yashpal Rana for synchronized execution.
CME covered basic to advance of CT Coronary Angiography, Stent and post bypass graft imaging, interactive case based discussions and multiple work stations for hands on experience. Highlight of the CME was Level 1 Certification from IACI & CVCTA education. An exciting quiz session was also conducted using a mobile app.

CME was attended by huge numbers of radiologists, cardiologists, cardio-thoracic surgeons, paediatric cardiologists and residents. GMC (Gujarat Medical Council) granted 6 credit points to this one and a half day CME.
Seven Annual IACI Congress was held at Sevenhills Hospital Mumbai, on September 14th to 16th, 2017. Total of 5 workshops were organised including three IACI Level 1 Certification Workshops. Adult Coronary CT, Paediatric Cardiac Imaging and adult cardiac MRI Level 1 Certification programs were sphere headed by Dr Hemant Telkar, Dr Rajeshkannan and Dr Vimalraj respectively.
One full day workshop was organised for technologists. Half a day workshop on echocardiogram was conducted for cardiologists and general physicians.
Dr Mark Westwood, the chair of education committee from SCMR and Dr Ron Jacob from SCMR and Dr Ravibathina from CTCVI were the special guest speakers.
Using multivendor workstations, hands on training was provided to more than 100 delegates.
